Foresters challenge commission on ETS

Forest owners say they are concerned recommendations made in a recent report on the future of forestry in New Zealand may undo national efforts to try to meet the country’s emission reduction obligations.

A key recommendation was a revisiting of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), winding down the number of carbon credits issued under it and limiting future forest plantings through the scheme.
