Analysis: The Government is coming under fire from concerned global climate scientists, who say its potential new methane emissions target ignores scientific evidence to permit the continued release of high levels of the climate-heating gas.

As is to be expected in such a long-running debate like the methane discourse, Luxon and Climate Change Minister Simon Watts came to Parliament armed with plenty of talking points on Tuesday. Not all of them, however, stack up.
